Preparations for Election Day Meeting

Blount County, TN – An election commission meeting was held on July 20, 2022. Election day preparations are continuously underway. According to the election office in Blount County, this is the press release and agenda.

    Voting Centers location List – update and approve.

  • 73 New Voter Registrations (10% of 727) to be reviewed for deficiencies. Total number
    of registered voters to date is 92,187.
     Early and Absentee – 1989 votes through this morning. (1436 after 4 days for May early
    voting)
     Subpoena request felon info – Craig Garrett has handled the request of Aug. 1 due to
    election.
  • Transition to Machines with a Voter-Verified Paper Audit Trail – passed on April 27, 2022
    – must be in place by January 1, 2024. Bidding process to begin this fall. Bidding to
    begin in December
     Visit to John Sevier – Patsy and Susan
     Nick Black’s voting issue
     ETACEO Conference – Dec. 7 – 9, 2022 in Pigeon Forge
     Poll Worker issue
     Absentee Counting Board to begin at 2 pm.

  • Next Election Commission Meeting – Wednesday, August 17, 2022 @ 11 am
    Upcoming Dates
     July 28, 2022 – Last day to request absentee ballot
     July 30, 2022 – Last day of Early Voting
     August 2 @ Noon – Deadline to Appoint Poll Watchers
     August 4 – Election Day
     August 10 – Deadline to count Provisional Ballots
