Board of Commissioners Approve More Funding Projects

Blount County, TN – On July 21, 2022, at 6:30 p.m. the Blount County Board of Commissioners held a meeting. Nineteen members of the board were present, and the agenda was set at 6:35 p.m. by all members.

Public Input on Agenda

To begin, Korean Duley said, “This development plan has been in limbo for months. I want to keep it away from chaotic development process and for you to consider affordably. The citizens are continuing to be put out of the market and most developments are not giving enough free space in the cluster affordable buildings. We need to preserve the lands around the buildings. We need to think of the people and not just the developer.”

Next, Forrest Derison said,” I wished that everyone could have been a part of the Board of Education meeting to see the needs of the community of teachers and the schools. I think the school should be asking you for more funding for the facility. There are some important building needs out there.”

Then, Member Kevin Mcgneal,” I strongly advise appointing project managers on land sales in proposals coming through today and August 11th, 2022.”
