Upcoming Closings and Events in Blount County

Blount County, TN – These are the upcoming closings and events in Blount County for Independence Day.

Starting off, City of Maryville Municipal Center Offices, the Operations Center, and Recycling Centers will all close in observance of Independence Day. All will re-open on Thursday, July 5th.

Wednesday’s residential trash pick up will be moved to Thursday and Thursday’s will be moved to Friday. Routes normally picked up on Friday will be picked up on Monday, July 9th.

There will be no change to the residential garbage pick-up schedule. ​

• The Harley Davidson Rally occurs this weekend.
• Great Smokey Mountains is hosting the Greenback Parade at 11 a.m. on July 4th, 2022.
• Food trucks and children’s play will open at 6 p.m. at the Greenback Fire Department.
• The Tennessee Volunteer Fire Department in Townsend plans on fireworks at 9 p.m. on July 4th, 2022.
