Happy Independence Day 2022 from Knoxville!

Knoxville, TN – Happy Independence Day 2022 from Knoxville! Here are the plans for this Monday:

City of Knoxville offices will be closed Monday, July 4, 2022.

The closure includes the 311 Center for Service Innovation, which operates the 311 and 211 phone numbers. Residents needing to report potholes, overgrown lots or other neighborhood issues to 311 are encouraged to use the My Knoxville app. Residents can also submit a request online at KnoxvilleTN.gov/311 or via email 311office@knoxvilletn.gov. To access a list of social services available through 211, residents can utilize the online chatbot at KnoxvilleTN.gov/chat or visit TN211.mycommunitypt.com.

Waste Connections will run residential garbage and recycling routes on July 4. Downtown trash and recycling will also run on the regular schedule throughout the holiday weekend.

The City’s public outdoor pools will be open regular hours all weekend. Ed Cothren (1737 Reynolds St.) and Inskip (4204 Bruhin Road) pools operate 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and 1 – 6 p.m. on Sundays. For more information, visit KnoxvilleTN.gov/Aquatics.

Closings and Changes

Be advised of these additional closures and changes:

• City recycling centers will be open, however the Goodwill attendant will not be on site to accept household goods donations. Please don’t leave donations at unattended centers.

• City of Knoxville Recreation Centers will be closed Monday, July 4. Youth Summer Camps will not meet that week and will resume on Monday, July 11.

• The City’s Solid Waste Facility located at 1033 Elm Street will be closed from Saturday, July 2, through Monday, July 4, and reopen Tuesday, July 5. Free for City Residents Day at the Solid Waste Facility will be Saturday, July 9.

• Knoxville Area Transit buses and trolleys will not operate, and the service desk will be closed, on July 4.

Mayor Indya Kincannon will join many City staff members at Festival on the 4th at the World’s Fair Park. The following roads will be closed temporarily for that event:

• World’s Fair Park Drive between Clinch and Grand avenues will be closed to vehicular traffic between 2 and 11 p.m. Clinch Avenue between Henley and 11th streets will also be closed.

• Henley Bridge between E. Hill and Blount avenues will be closed from 4 – 11 p.m. to vehicles and all other traffic.
